WELFARE PLAN

As early as 2016, La Scala was one of the first law firms to launch a structured welfare plan designed to improve work-life balance for members of the firm.

Five years after the plan was adopted, 90 baby bonuses have been disbursed and, each year, around 50 school bonuses are disbursed to families with school-age children. Within the first three years of implementation, we allocated a total of EUR 255,000 to this initiative, with an annual budget of around EUR 55,000. This figure was basically doubled (EUR 100,000) with the renewal of the welfare plan in the three-year 2021-2024 period.

We further decided to extend the Unisalute - Gestione Professionisti health insurance cover, already in place for all staff members, to all Group employees as well. Unisalute - Gestione Professionisti provides many health services, free of charge (or with a lump sum reimbursement) and some benefits to support families.

In addition to the above, recently professionals in the Milan office have the opportunity to use an environmentally friendly and sustainable Citroen electric car, called AMI, free of charge for both work and personal needs.

SMART WORKING

We have adopted a structured Smart Working model, based on the values of flexibility and a sense of responsibility, with the aim of combining the needs of worklife balance and sustainability with those of educational and professional growth, through the acquisition of new managerial skills.

With a view to making this hybrid approach truly ‘smart’, innovative and practical, we have developed a new policy that, through clear guidelines, helps everyone to better manage the organisation of office and remote work.

The Smart Working plan includes extensive training: as many as 250 hours of overall training segmented by uniformed classes and delivered by specialised trainers.

The purpose of the training program is to provide all the necessary tools to accomplish daily work as effectively as possible. The focus is therefore on strengthening hard and soft skills: from the use of technology to team working and working according to objectives.

Below are the macro-themes addressed:

All People
  1. Time to work smart: the key points
  2. The success of the smart organisation: trust
  3. The perfect Smart Worker: core skills
  4. Smart communication: techniques and tools
All Managers
  1. The Manager of the Future: smart team management and on-boarding
  2. Basic skills and how to act on them: leadership and trust
  3. Leading an accountable team
  4. Conducting virtual meetings in the New Normal
